1. Legal basis

Cookies that are strictly necessary for the service you have expressly requested are set on the basis of Article 5(2) of KVKK, without requiring separate consent, in line with the Personal Data Protection Authority's Guidelines on Cookie Practices. Any cookie that is not strictly necessary — for example analytics or marketing cookies — would require your explicit consent and would be presented to you for that consent before being set.

2. Cookies used by this site

  • btf_session — strictly necessary. Holds your authenticated session so you stay logged in. Session-scoped.
  • refresh_token — strictly necessary. Renews your session without forcing you to log in again. Set only for authenticated users.
  • active_theme — preference. Remembers your selected colour theme so the interface does not flash on load.
  • Language preference — preference. Your chosen interface language (English or Turkish) is carried in the page address and remembered for subsequent visits.

3. Browser storage

In addition to cookies, some settings are kept in your browser's local storage. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to the server as a cookie.

  • btf_saved_scenarios — the scenarios you save locally while exploring.
  • USE_MOCK_API — a development toggle used to switch the interface between live and sample data.

4. Advertising and third-party tracking

This site does not set advertising cookies, does not embed third-party advertising or social media tracking pixels, and does not share cookie data with data brokers or ad networks. If third-party analytics or error-monitoring is introduced later, this policy will be updated and, where consent is required, that consent will be requested before any such cookie is set.

5. Product usage events

The platform records first-party product-usage events — such as which surfaces you open and which instruments you search — and sends them to its own backend to operate entitlements and to understand which features are used. These events are covered by the Privacy & KVKK Notice and are not shared with third-party advertising services.

6. Managing cookies

You can delete existing cookies and block future ones through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from logging in and will stop parts of the platform from working. Clearing local storage will remove your locally saved scenarios and preferences.
